The English form of Jeremiah. Can be found in some versions of the New Testament. Took a huge jump in popularity in 1970, influenced by the character Jeremy Bolt in the television series, "Here Come the Brides." Peaked at No. 14 in 1976, but still remains a favorite among parents today.
